Has partisanship gone so far that we can't even compliment our opponents for the good things they've accomplished. I don't think Obama or Biden are playing politics or trying to fool people when they say they respect McCain's record.
No matter what I may think about Obama's politics, it is great that an African-American is on a ticket. It is great that we spend so little time talking about his race and so much time talking about what he has done and what he wants to do.
Yes, I disagree with what Obama wants to do and some things that have gone on in his past, but that does not change the fact that he is the first African-American to be on a major party ticket, and I think that's ultimately good for America.

I agree that Obama's candidacy is important for the country.
I just thought that we shouldn't get too carried away with 30 seconds of planned commercial stagecraft.
